The Social Security Administration sometimes gives SSI users two payments at once. This isn’t a gift or extra money.
It’s actually the check or direct payment from the next month. There are times like this when it’s the weekend or a Federal Holiday. For instance, the January 1 SSI check will be sent out on December 31, 2024.
There will be a double SSI payment for the first time in May 2025. Supplemental Security Income checks and direct payments for the month of May will be sent out on May 1, 2025. When this one is over, there will be one more before the end of the month.
There will be two SSI payment dates in May 2025.
There will be a second SSI payment on May 30, 2025, after the first one on May 1, 2025. Keep this second payment for June because it’s the money that Social Security will send you early for the next month.
In the event that you are approved for a $967 monthly payment, you will receive $1934 in your bank account. In 2025, this is the most that a person will be able to get paid.
They will get a total of $2,900 if they are married and get a bonus of up to $1,450 in May 2025. People who are essential will get the smallest checks, worth up to $484. After the May 1 and May 30 SSI payments, it will add up to $968.
In 2025, there will be more months when SSI payments are doubled.
More payouts for 2025 have had to be moved around by the Social Security Administration. People who get Supplemental Security Income will get two checks or direct deposits in the following accounts:
- May 1 & May 30 (for June)
- August 1 & August 29 (for September)
- October 1 & October 31 (for November)
- December 1 & December 31 (for January 2026)
